Microsoft is offering a FREE upgrade to Windows 10 for any system currently running Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1. The free Windows 10 upgrade is a full version with it’s own valid and unique license key.and can upgrade from an older version of Windows or perform a standalone install. Microsoft will also make the software downloadable as an ISO disc image, for those who want to keep it on DVD or a USB memory key.
This includes our tablets. In order to get the upgrade, Microsoft is pushing a Get Windows 10 app to eligible PCs.
Sometimes the app does not appear on eligible PCs. The batch file I attached to this post should correct that.
The “Get Windows 10” icon allows you to reserve your free copy of Windows 10 and will even queue up the Windows 10 installer to download on your system if you like.
To run the fixer, simply extract the Win10fix_full.bat from the archive, then right click on the file and select “Run as Administrator”
Start with option 1 which will check to see if you have downloaded the proper Windows updates.
