Awesome topic, thnx for the info! Tried it on the Mele PCG35 Apo with the j3455 celeron and it works on there too! 😀

I only tested raising it to 15w to give it some more headroom in the application I’m using it for and verified with hwinfo, seems to work well!

Does the higher power limit just increase graphics performance or could it increase cpu bound applications aswell?

Hmm, my 2nd V4 has not got the power limit option in the bios anymore, as shown on the video…. Strange!

If MSR 610h isn’t in locked state then do not worry :).

There is new ThrottleStop 8.50 version which allows to set TDP limit for Apollo Lake SoC (TPL button).

Notice: There is a need to collect more registers dumps for this SoC. Especially if you have laptop with LPDDR3 memory. Then please go to this thread and download from SendSpace tool called RegReport. If you do not want to create new account on TechPowerUp forum then attache txt output file here. I will deliver it to that forum if there will be something interesting to see for the author of ThrottleStop. On my setup there is a lack of few MSR registers which are described in Goldmont core SDM (Software Developement Manual). Strange.

Same here, new V4 model has a Sandisk eMMC, but no powerlimit option. That’s locked. Doesn’t matter its not for me.

Is it locked only in BIOS or completely? Check with ThrottleStop it will show if Turbo Power Limit (MSR 610h) is locked (bit 15 set).

Here are the register settings for a chuwi 12.3 lapbook

Thanks for the rapport. Sadly it seems that there are no more MSRs. Changing CPU voltage seems impossible right now :(.

Only noticeable difference is that your BIOS has never microcode for this SoC (version 24h vs most common 1Ch).
Newest is 2Ch for this SoC CPUID value 506C9h.

Hi, I also ve a V4 with the sandisk Memory.

My Bios is also locked and I don´t ve the Option 🙁

Is it already possible to use the read write Thing to increase the tdp Limit to 10W

Or what can I do right now? I really want to increase the power.

Hi Dennis, just the app in this thread and you can set a 10W limit. By default Jumper now set 9W up from the 6W on the first model.

Hi Chris, Which app do you mean? I installed ThrottleStop and with this I cold set it to 10.

But before I did this it was on 6 and not on 9W. I looked for this with HW Info.

The default power limit on my ezbook pro 3 rev 4 is also 6W, not 9 –  locked in BIOS.

Using throttlestop it gradually upped the limit to 12W using the Max Power setting.

Thing is this setting does not get saved within a profile and has to be applied manually every time throttlestop is launched. Would have been great if I could set Max Power when on AC power profile and back to stock on battery.

Anyone know if that’s possible to achieve maybe by modifying the throttlestop ini file?
