Tried to attach these images a few times but it just timed out.
Here is the best picture i can get, sorry its a bit fuzzy as the lighting is poor. No sign of any damage or blackening to surface components and the traces seem fine, from what I can see.
Is it possible that the charger took the damage or fused out? Can you pop a multimeter across the pins and see if it’s still alive? Diagnosing this on a board level might be impossible. Sometimes components don’t fail in a visible way 🙁
I’m in work so don’t have access to my multi meter unfortunately, but i did find an old device that has the same requirements an nearly the same size barrel, I used the Jumper power supply and it powered up so looks like its the laptop.
A bit of reverse engeneering of the PCB is needed but from a photo it’s nearly impossible.
Anyway, don’t trow the laptop away.. If you only fried the charging circuit you could use an external circuit to charge the battery or put a power supply in place of the battery itself.
