I haven’t tried to open my case yet – and I won’t until the year warranty is up (my warranty is through Geekbuying) – But I know the unit runs hot. Core Temp tells me my TJMax thermal override is set to 195 F. While installing and playing games like Crysis 2, I can see the temp on core 1 get as high as 185 F.

The only thing I’ve done which does help is to make sure all unwanted and unneeded programs including all background hidden Microsoft apps/tools will Never run period. – To do this I had to spend two days tweaking my system.. but i’m extreme – I use Black Vipers site (http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-10-service-configurations/) to weed out all unwanted Windows services used along with the tools Autoruns,( https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx) PServ (part of Gtools) (http://www.p-nand-q.com/download/gtools/) and Easy Services Optimizer (http://www.sordum.org/8637/easy-service-optimizer-v1-2/) (ESO is made to work based on Black Vipers recommendations) – I actually take hours to study each of the over 100 services Windows can run and I literately disable 3/4’s of the operating system – the Only thing my OS should do is run my games and surf the web – If Windows 10 wants to do anything more than that (and I mean ANYTHING ), I do not allow it. I get processes down in the 20’s at startup just enough for a slim core system to run.

I look forward to other ideas on the heat issue. Thanks for making the thread.

Thats a good idea. I look in the hardware, because I can run a lot of things well, until It heats up. I think the problem is that it’s close and It hasn’t have aluminium to dissipate heat. Thanks!
