You might have to reinstall Windows. Trying making a Windows 10 media USB drive. Boot to it from the bios menu and then don’t install Windows and go to repair my PC. Try the troubleshooting repair options, start-up issues. See if it fixes it. Google Windows 10 start up issues and have a look at tutorials on how to fix it.

If that fails go back into repair my PC (Windows 10 USB flash drive) and try to reset your X3 Pro.

Many thanks Chris for quick response and helpful suggestions. I will check them out later tonight (due to other commitments), but in the meantime, it would help me feel better about the status of my Setup menu, if someone owning a properly functioning Teclast X3 could upload screen prints (or photos) of the last two tabs of the Setup Menu – the Boot tab and the Save & Exit tab. Also on the Boot option dialog box shown when you press F7 during start.

Chris, after a lot of problems getting the Microsoft tool to accept any of my USB storage devices late yesterday, I finally succeded to create an install media. Unfortunately, none of the repair options can achieve any result, so it looks like I will have to do a complete reinstall. Then I of course worry about the drivers. I have downloaded the big chunk of drivers you have on your Download page, but there does´nt seem to be a comprehensive exe that installs everything in one go. Do I have to install everything one by one? Will it be sufficient to execute the oemXX.inf file in each catalogue?

And assuming reinstall will work out ok, I am already thinking ahead on what happens next. Was this total crash caused by a hardware problem (SSD or other) and should I trust my X3 to continue as my main PC in the future? What do you think?

    Chris,

My worries about future reliability were answered immediately by Microsoft when I started the reinstall process. The Install Media showed the 128 GB disk, but also stated that “Windows can not be installed to this disk. The disk may fail soon”.

Now I really need some good advice. To return the X3 from Sweden to Gearbest will cost around $50 if I send it registered and insured and the total procedure with Gearbest handling and shipping back and forth will probably be around 4-5 weeks – plus the risk for customs duty. So, I am thinking about replacing the the SSD myself, but there are some questions:

    • It is possible to buy a drive locally for $50 (Adata Premier SP600NS34 M.2 2242 128GB). Speeds are specified at max 550 MB/s read and max 170 MB/s write. Do you think it is OK?
    • Is there a risk that there may be other parts defective than the the SSD, e.g. the SATA connector?
    • Is it easy to open the X3 and replace the disk? Is there a tutorial on opening X3?
    • Does another brand of SSD require another driver or setting? (I have no prior experience with SSD disks.)

I am hesitant and need a push in either direction.

    Chris,

I understand you have to much to do to answer all requests for help, but please could you answer just this one:

I know you have opened TeclastX3 and also that you have written a tutorial on opening Teclast X2. Could please just say if the method is identical or not. I don´t want to break my X3.

    Thanks
