I am not one to use the keyboard so I needed a case option.  I have a tempered glass cover on my screen but I still wanted something to protect the device overall when it’s not being used or when it’s been taken from place to place in a backpack or something along those lines.  I also wanted something ideally that could give me some functionality as a stand.  I was hesitant to buy a case from Aliexpress directly or the other chinese sites mainly due to concerns over fit/finish and return options.  I stumbled into that link on Amazon and was far more comfortable due to Amazons great customer service.  Since my order it looks like the seller is now offering fulfilled by amazon (mine came straight from China) so shop times are now much shorter and even with Prime Shipping!  So onto the case!

Case is well made and consistent with other off brand leather cases I have ordered of this kind.  The stitching was in good shape and I had no frayed or broken edges.  Fit was fine, tablet slips in one one side and has a “tab” that folds back and behind the tablet providing a reasonable amount of security.  The leather goes around the sides and edge/corners.  All of the usb ports were readily accessible and I saw no reduction in the functionality such as a blocked port or muffled audio.

The stand worked by flipped the front over and “hooking” it under a little tab that is on the exterior of the back.  There is only one “setting” so it is not really adjustable but it provides a pretty secure method and works much better then the “trifold” style where the front cover folds at three points to create a stand.  I find those wobbly and too often the magnets aren’t strong enough and the trifold collapses.

Also (surprisingly to me) works as a smart cover.  Screen shuts off when you close the cover and automatically wakes up when you open it.   I was not expecting that at all!

So for me this is perfect.  It adds a little bit of bulk but it ticks a few boxes I was concerned about.  Mainly protecting the tablet when it’s being transported around and second giving an option to prop itself up rather then leaning it against other objects!

Thank you for the review! Can you tell me where you got your tempered glass screen protector? I see one on Amazon.

John mine actually is NOT meant for the Hi12.  Before buying the Hi12 I had a Surface Pro 3 and while I did not end up keeping that tablet, at one point I had ordered some protectors for it and ended up with  a single left over tempered glass protect for the SP3.  Since I had nothing to lose I went to see if it would fit and it was actually a surprising good fit.  I posted a thread about it (with a product link and pictures)
