I’ve been meaning to ask… did anyone elses Hi8 come with a Windows login already created?

Mine came from Gearbest. The box was’nt sealed in any way, and although the entire tablet looks new, when I first booted into Windows instead of the usual user setup screen (as for any normal new device) it simply came up with a login for “John”. No password, logged straight in. No other signs that it’s been touched before.

I suspect they’ve used this login to get the drivers right perhaps…? Or someone playing with my tablet before shipping! I won’t bothered taking it up with GearBest, as it was hassle enough just buying it. Overall fairly happy with this unit for the price.

Hi, all the boxes are opened as all the seller (At least the good ones) normally set it to English and then check for faults at a first glance. I’ve noticed this from AliExpress sellers, banggood.com, geekbuying and gearbest.com.

Normally the use just a few letters as the user, not “John” And there any camera images in pictures or installed apps? There should be nothing, if not I would ask questions.

Same here. Mine was from gearbest and had the username “kom”.
I agree that it was tested/changed to english before shipping.
    No apps/documents were visible.

PS. big fan of the site 🙂

No photos, apps, documents. So I think you’re right, they’ve changed it to English. Well that’s good then, thanks for the info guys 🙂

    And yes, love the site!
