@Warren, it sounds to me like the screen ribbon cable.
I’m a computer repair technician and I work on laptops pretty regularly. I don’t know how easy the HiBook is to disassemble without damaging it, but I think it’s worth a shot to check the cable… especially considering how expensive it would be to ship it back to GearBest!

May 23, 2016 at 4:01 pm #38368Hi Andy,
resetting the cable didn’t fix the issue. The cables are neat and tidy by the way, battery pack is firmly held in place.
However, I unplugged the battery from the main board and left it out for about a 30 seconds. Plugged it back in, and the machine boots. However, while attempting to ‘snap’ the cover back on the digitizer cracked. I was pretty careful, it seemed to break very easily. However, I also own a Teclast x98 Air III and the digitizer on that cracked when I was inserting it into the protective case specifically made for it. So unless I’m being very rough, or these more affordable tablets are somewhat flimsy. I obviously need to be extremely gentle. Now… where to find a Hibook digitizer… *Sigh*
May 24, 2016 at 6:49 pm #38491Have you tried contacting Chuwi, the only reason seems to me yu’ve openned it because it arrived faulty, contact Chuwi and hope they’ll send you one free of charge.
June 1, 2016 at 2:38 am #39423I got my HiBook today and now I’m having the same problem. It was delivered with a 65% charge and I had no problem restarting and cold booting many times. I had to go for 4-5 hours, so I shut down and plugged in, while attached with the keyboard. Now, fully charged (I assume) it won’t POST. The power light turns on for a couple seconds after holding the power button 3 seconds.
A connected drive dock also indicates a connection for the couple of seconds the tablet’s light is on.
Does this tablet overcharge?

June 1, 2016 at 2:59 am #39425Wait, I plugged in the power and it booted immediately while plugged in. And now it shows 0% charge! It was OFF and plugged in for 5+ hours starting with a working 65% charge! So it appears the charger drained the battery instead of charging it. Must be the keyboard’s fault somehow…

In my case, the tablet will lose charge quite fast, even when connected to the original charger, and not using it (sleep), but keyboard dock connected. I noticed that the tablet charge is only hover around 90%, so it will charge to 100%, lose charge to 90%, then charge it again. The main problem is, it lose 10% of charge when sleeping quite fast, probably around 1 hour.
Also for my tablet, I must boot to either Windows 10 or Android to charge it faster, it will use 5.5V 2.6A (Around 14W, so almost full power). If I turn it off and charge it, it will only use around 1A. I also experienced the tablet needs more try to boot it up, but it will always success though.
Anyway, does your tablet have any touch screen issue?
Now I already decrease the resolution to 1920×1200, the tablet is much faster now. Atom processor definitely doesn’t have power to drive the 2K screen. Seems a bit blurry, but still quite acceptable at typing distance.

No, I have no touchscreen issues at all. The tablet seems pretty fast so far, but it’s got almost nothing on it. I’ve literally only installed Nirsoft’s USB info utilities (BatteryInfoView, USBDeview), CrystalDiskMark (portable version actually, so that doesn’t count), and FireFox. I’m trying not to do very much until I have a chance to clone the drive.
