I came across the term “anaphora” recently when reading about rhetorical devices. From what I gather, it means repeating the same word or phrase at the beginning of consecutive sentences or clauses. I tried it in a speech I gave: “We will fight for justice. We will fight for peace. We will fight for freedom.” It sounded powerful, but I’m wondering how to use anaphora without making the writing sound repetitive or dull. Does anyone have advice?
