How easy to replace screen?

Bought a Chuwi hi12 from banggood.
However the tablet came with a defective screen. The touch does not work, but everything else seems to be fine(can use with usb mouse).

Contacted banggood and they have offered to send a new screen so I can repair it myself.
I am reluctant to do this because I don’t know how easy it is to replace the screen and also there is no guarantee that this will fix the problem.

Has anyone had any experience replacing the screen?
Is it as simple as popping out the screen without having to remove any other components?

Are you sure the touchscreen driver is properly installed? Won’t work otherwise.

I’m pretty sure it is. I even did a full system flash via instructions here http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/hi12-official-win10-system-firmware-and-drivers/

I have a similar issue with my tablet, but my screen is pitch black and touch is working. According to the forums a flex cable has gotten lose during the transport, might be a similar issue for you but a different flex cable?
