Every vendor in this space calls itself a market leader, so I’m trying to work out what actually separates a strong enterprise AI app builder from one that just markets well. I’d like to hear how others have judged this.
Here is the approach I’m considering
- Look past the label: Ask for proof such as real customer examples, case studies, and apps already running in production, not just feature lists.
- Test with a real use case: Build one of your own workflows during the trial rather than relying on a polished demo.
- Check the output: Find out whether it produces truly native apps or web wrappers, and how that affects speed and device features.
- Review governance and security: Look for access controls, audit trails, data handling policies and support for your compliance needs.
- Ask about integrations: Confirm it connects to your existing CRM, ERP and internal systems without heavy custom work.
- Understand the roadmap and support: A good platform keeps improving and responds quickly when something breaks.
- Plan an exit: Check what you can export, and how hard it would be to move away later.
I work with Nativly AI, so I look at this from the builder’s side too, and I’d rather get honest views than a sales pitch.
Questions for the community:
- Which criteria turned out to matter most once you started using your platform?
- What red flags should buyers watch for during evaluation?
- How long did your pilot run before you were confident in the choice?
