Bay Trail tablets have pretty crappy BIOSes overall.

    Can you boot to SD?

I have a Cube i7 Book but this is a Core M based device – With a freaking awesome bios. I can boot to SD/USB.

I can boot Android x86 6.0 RC-2 – But that is only a release candidate. (beta)

Even if you COULD boot it… expect some things to not work properly.

In fact this is the first time I have been able to boot Android x86 in a long time across multiple devices.

    It’s a good sign…

But Damn Atom BIOS… Intel cut their own throat with these…

I think you have to somehow build a img then flash that… I think intel had a tool…

This is all very very risky.

have you checked out XDA developers?

I am as lost as you are, I own an x 98 Air 2 (H8GN) with windows 8.1 and android. I’d like to format just the android partition with some other good android rom, not the default one, but I would like to leave the windows partition as it is, or increase it.
I can’t find any related guide, most of them are obsolete and/or related to AIR 2 3G models, and I’m not sure if I can use them.

My issue is I that I want to get rid of Windows and the Windows partition – I have an X98 Air II (H8GN) with dual boot – and I think what I need is a partition.tbl document that only has the android partitions – I have an Android 5.0 ROM to flash (as 6.0 not available) which gives the option of Android only. But at the moment my laptop will not see the device and Windows 10 will not allow the IBM drivers to be installed. It’s one thing after another.

I still don’t understand the whole proccess.

I want to keep my windows 8.1 partiton as it is.My Teclast X 98 AIR 2 is model H8GN with default BIOS (tpad 1.04, 11.29.2014)My BIOS is already a dual boot BIOS. My emmc is 32gb, default partition table.

I’d like to install mireks lollipop v7 in the android partition, that’s all.

1-Do I have to flash the BIOS? If so, which one should I use, 2.05 or 2.02? (for an AIR 2 H8GN model)

2-If I have to flash the BIOS, should my android be rooted? (I haven’t touched the android default install)

The rest of the proccess seems pretty clear with mireks tools, but I’m still not sure if I have to flash the BIOS to achieve what I want (flash android and keep windows and the partition table), and if I have to flash the BIOS using android usb debugging, should the device be rooted?

I really apreciate any help with any of these questions.

EDIT: I answer myself, i didn’t need to update the bios in this case. After flashing mirek’s lolipop v7 dual boot is still working

I assume you had a BIOS similar to mine, tpad 1.04 from 2014, did u have to flash your BIOS before flashing mirek’s android rom?

If so, which one did you use?
