With the “Maximum processor state” you’re limiting the speed of the CPU, so it takes less power (=> less battery used, less heat generated)
This is what each setting means:
33% 480 MHz
40% 560 MHz
50% 720 MHz
65% 880 MHz
75% 1040 MHz
80% 1120 MHz
85% 1200 MHz
90% 1280 MHz
95% 1360 MHz
99% 1440 MHz
100% 2240 MHzDecember 10, 2015 at 12:44 pm #18113so it means the performance is affected as well?

Of course, there’s no magic here. Performance = power & heat.
It’s the same on phones, tablets, laptops and PCs… more powerful CPUs and GPUs consume more power and generate more heat.
That’s why we have “gaming” computers and “office” computers and “netbooks”.
December 10, 2015 at 12:59 pm #18116what i mean is does your suggested % can still works well? especially for watching movies(1080p) surfing webs(opening 5 tabs or more) and some casual gaming(age of empire). Im not heavy game player and i dont plan to install heavy games here ..
Thanks by the way.. im not familiar with this and you’re really helping! thanks!

Start by setting it to 99%, which almost avoids that the CPU gets in “turbo” mode at 2.24 GHz and saves a lot of power.
I’ve tested playing videos with the CPU at 1 GHz and I do not see any jumps
For 3D games there’s no magic, they need all the performance you can give and more. Try to lower resolution and quality settings and play with CPU limited to 99% or 95%.
December 24, 2015 at 2:27 pm #19820Hi,
I am about to order the x98 pro. The only thing I am a little bit concerned is the battery life since it is mentioned often in the forum. How long lasts the battery using those settings? e.g. limiting the CPU to 95% and normal use like office, surfing and watching videos?Best regards

About 5 -6 hours in Windows, without using the turbo mode (2240 MHz).
Also be aware that several people have reported that the battery % indicator is not well calibrated and when it says 5% left, it is really at 25% and the tablet can keep running for 1 hour.
