you need to install windows, the procedure is straight forward but you will need a hub in order to connect a keyboard and a usb, you need the keyboard to press delete in order to enter the bios setup.

there is a tutorial on this site.

    Hi CardinalFang.

I’ve read several posts on this forum and find very confusing due to many dead links, links that lead to Chinese sites and no clear instructions that I can understand. does an image exist that can be flashed to the device similar to that when flashing to a mobile phone.

I have a usb hub and spare keyboard somewhere – could you give me link to instructions please.

    Hy Alex,download CHUWI Hi8 Windows – Update 09/23/2015 from here http://www.needrom.com/download/chuwi-hi8-dual-os/  .

After download decompress that arhive and you will see 2 folders, usb 1 and usb 2.Put all files from folder usb 1 on usb stick that have more than 4 gb,stick need to be formated fat 32 and usb stick need to named WINCE,and other stick also bigger than 4gb ,formated NTFS where you will put folder imagine from folder usb2.

    First shut down tablet.

After you copy files on usb, connect with an usb hub at tablet both usb stick and keyboard.

Press ESC key from keyboard and power on tablet, after select with keyboard 2nd option, boot manager or smth and select efi usb etc. After you select, windows start to install. If you will receive a red window you will need format again usb stick and put files back on stick and retry, but if you receive a green window or tablet restart after 5-10 min mean windows completly instaled.

Remove after restart,or green window(where you need to write exit and press enter) usb stick.Be patient after install windows you need to wait 5-10 min enter in windows.

Only driver that you will need is touch.Charge tablet more than 70%.

Hi Stephan, your English is good to degree that now even I have an understanding of what is involved and provided I can download the archive successfully, feel pretty confident that I can undertake this process.

I purchased the tablet from amazon and sent it back yesterday and repurchasing a replacement which I am waiting for delivery. if this should happen again I believe I can rectify that problem by carrying out the above procedure – I will be better prepared in future.

it is not very good that Chuwi do not have downloadable image available on their site and support from them is non existent.

    many thanks for your post!

    Alex

Color grading can really make or break a photo or video, especially when you’re working with limited hardware like older tablets or budget cameras. I used to spend a lot of time manually tweaking tones until I stumbled upon these LUTs from Skylum’s marketplace https://skylum.com/marketplace/luts . They’ve seriously made my editing flow way faster without sacrificing quality. Some of them add just the right cinematic feel, even to shots I thought were unusable. If you’re doing any post-processing, even casually, it’s worth exploring. Not all LUTs are created equal, and these actually feel thoughtfully made.

Great instructions on the Windows install! It’s such a lifesaver when official support is non-existent and you have to rely on community guides. I’ve always felt that being able to fix your own gear and manage your own tech is the first step toward real independence.

That mindset actually led me to leave the corporate world behind and start freelancing full-time. It’s been a great journey, and my best resource for finding practical and honest working strategies was the site madcash.pro — it’s full of solid schemes for anyone looking to work for themselves and boost their budget for new gadgets. Leaving the link here, maybe it’ll help someone else fund their tech hobby on their own terms!
