how to root X98Plus + Tweak

during these 3 last day i try every root possible but all fail
(all root method for any teclsat X98 model, all know prog like IRoot, kingo root, framaroot, kingroot, and even IntelAndroid-FBRL-07-24-2015 fail but work great on most intel tablet include some Teclast X98)

i never root a tablet from scratch, i did create patch to convert chinese Fw to all mutli lang (see my Zte V5 pro pacth)
i was the first to convert X98 air 3G W10 to dualboot
but im still a rookie
first i try to boot X98 Pro beta 2 Twrp but fail, because the bootloader is unlock but still in Verified mode
so the tablet refuse to boot Twrp so i fully unlock it with : fastboot oem unlock but it erase android
and when i reflashed android the file flash.json relock the bootloader to veriified state ! so i edited it to not relock it after flashing back android
and finally i was able to boot TWRP, but like on X98 pro, Twrp is bugged and i was not able to succesfully install superSU.zip to root the tablet (only backup and restore seem to work)

so i learn how to unpack and repack and tweak the dam boot.img under ubutnu so i set /default.prop and set “ro.secure=0”.
then i was able to mount RW /system so adb remount command worked at last
then i fight to install superSU
and finally supersu work

my account/ip here is locked, so i maybe not able to reply … since now im not at home, i’m able to connect again
i hope Chris will find a solution and solve my login problem

Seriously, that is the biggest thing that happened to the X98 Plus so far.  Hope you will continue with the development to get xposed too, although root already doubles the value of this tablet. Again, amazing. Thanks.

 

Did anyone try the root with the A5C8?

congratulations for rooting your A5C6 x98 plus. How does the rooted one works?
Can you see increased Performance or something like this?

First of all, you can install adaway which makes surfing the web and watching youtube much more enjoyable!
Then there’s the ability to check for wakelocks which prevent your device to go into deep sleep and save battery using wakelock detector.
Then you can disable unwanted services (careful here!).
You can remove Chinese crap from the device.
Xposed (maybe later) will give you more flexibility.
Greenify works better with root.
I guess there are more stuff but that’s just from the top of my head.

Intalled it and worked fine. Xposed is a no no because it’s not avaliable for 64bits. :/
Btw, there’s an update on xda go check it.

yeah i forgot that xposed is not advable on 64bit, for x86 32bit only

You should probably just root it and apply the tricks he provides, it’s the same and probably easy/faster 😉
