Just rooted and installed your ROM. Everything works great. My only question is , why can’t I update SuperSU?
It fails in any attempt to update.March 2, 2016 at 2:21 am #27713Hello, I’ve just rooted my Teclast as well and I’m very grateful for your work, supercowz! I’m having the same problem as Gal. When I try to update SuperSU, it fails and tells me to reboot. Is there a reason or fix for this?
Thanks!
EDIT: When I use RootChecker, it says that I don’t have root. My device is x98 Plus (A5C8) running 5.1. I’m assuming this is because of the need to update SU binaries?
EDIT2: Problem has been solved! I did a factory wipe and reroot using ROOT.bat and SuperSU binaries updated without problem.
March 2, 2016 at 5:58 am #27719Brian that’s great news!
Can you check one more thing for me?
Can your device read now big size sd cards? I have 128GB and it recognized 1.85GB if I format it in Android (If I don’t format the only options I have is MOUNT and ERASE).Edit: I just not noticed you didn’t install the ROM. but just rooted the tablet. Â I should have done the same.. Do you know how can I flash only Android part again(stock)Â .?
March 2, 2016 at 2:35 pm #27739OK update!!
Solved everything! (AdAway, superSU notification, 1.85gGB bug).
The AdAway black screen was caused because it was asking root permissions but the superSU did not pop the message. So I just tried and set in superSU to grant root to all. Checked AdAway again and it worked.
The 1.85GB was solved by going to superSU and unrooting the device.
The notification about the update .. well.. we’ll get to that later. So:
1. I reflashed the ROM.
2. Did factory reset. (in Android settings).
3. Unroot the device in superSU settings.
4. reboot.
5. Check that the SD works. In my case it was 128GB (shows as 119GB). If it doesn’t work, erase the card in Setting\Storage.
6. Root the device again using “Root.bat”. It’s in the V.3.0 package. (assuming you installed the drivers already).
7. IMPORTANT! I discovered that during the root process the tablet reboots to recovery, then reboots and Android loads up again. Now this is the important part! You will need to unlock, wait a minute and then reboot it manually (DO NOT CLOSE THE CMD SCREEN ON YOUR PC!) WHen you will reboot, you will see that the cmd changes to some kind of “finished, press any key to close”.
7. Check that the SD still works.
8. Install AdAway3.1 and you should get a root permission request. If not, you can (for now) set the permissions to “GRANT” in superSU (make sure to change it back to PROMPT later). Reboot with the new HOST file.
9. Then install “App Quarantine” to lock all the bloat (you can also remove with other apps but with this app it’s reversible. I will try to upload a photo later with what I kept.
10. Install “Notifications Off” app. Grant it root permission and uncheck the box next to superSU. This will remove the update notification.So.. I have now bloat free, not superSU notification and 128GB card detected.
Good luck!

I went back factory ROM, will try your workarount later.
