With the Windows button is a know problem (some devices have it some not) had it on my own I9 too, after I flashed the custom bios it fixed itself after some days.
October 18, 2016 at 2:35 pm #55121So the windows button issue is a software one and not a hardware one? That gives me hope it’s fixable!
I contacted gearbest about it and they said they’d get back to me with an answer from the company in a couple days, hopefully it’ll get sorted out.
Thanks for the info
October 19, 2016 at 12:32 pm #55199I have the same problem with usb c charging at 5v.
I wouldn’t recommend charging the tablet at 5v anyway. The current and energy is quite low at 5v and it won’t even be enough to fully power the device at full speed.
Chris (this sites owner) used a regular usb c charger by dell that usages a much higher voltage and he didn’t have the problem.
I ordered a macbook usb charger and I will keep you updated if it is able to charge the device!
October 21, 2016 at 12:30 pm #55356Thanks Bonnom that would be great! It’d be nice to have a 2nd or 3rd charger for the tablet so I don’t have to bring the original one everywhere 🙂
Also I got a reply from GearBest, they offered a partial refund or I can post it back to china for a replacement/refund. It’s going to cost around $70AUD to ship it back to China so it’s not very economical especially if there’s something is wrong with the replacement, and I’ve already spent more money on a keyboard and tempered glass so a refund isn’t going to work. So I guess I’ll accept the partial refund and hubby is going to try and see what he can do about the windows menu popping up, I saw there is a couple potential fixes so hopefully one of them will work for me. Fingers crossed!
October 23, 2016 at 2:15 am #55433For the phantom windows button touches, I would direct you this post.
I followed the directions in the .zip and used the included driver and haven’t had mine experience a phantom touch since.
October 25, 2016 at 1:36 pm #55597Thanks for the link Andrew.
I’m happy to report that after applying the fix the windows button problem is no longer happening. Also managed to turn off annoying touchpad down swipe show desktop shortcut which was driving me slightly mad.
Now just gotta source a 2nd charger, saw some for sale on aliexpress so I’ll order one and see how they go. Going to maybe try out the heat sink mod at some stage as well, so far very happy with the performance of the tablet now the little issues have been ironed out 🙂
October 25, 2016 at 2:03 pm #55600Could you kindly post how to disable touchpad gestures?
What I've used and what I've got:
TECLAST X98 AIR 3G, TECLAST X98 AIR II, TECLAST X98 PRO,CHUWI HI8, CHUWI HI12, CUBE I9October 27, 2016 at 7:20 am #55789Hey mate check out this link and follow the directions to disable windows hotkeys, the downside is it disables ALL windows shortcuts, I’ve heard you can use AutoHotKey and write a script to disable just Win+D but I haven’t got around to fiddling with that yet.
