Hello, forum members! I head up a technical service that repairs kitchen and refrigeration equipment in restaurants. An unfortunate situation arose over the weekend: a technician replaced a circuit board in a heavy-duty combi-streamer, but failed to fill out the digital checklist and forgot to get the chef’s signature.

As a result, the manager refuses to approve the work order, and the office hasn’t been able to issue an invoice for three days now because there’s no clear confirmation of the time spent. How have you set up your process so that a technician’s work is immediately converted into a completed work order with photo documentation? I’d also like to ask for clarification: is there a way to let large chain clients create service requests themselves through a user-friendly dashboard and see in real time where the technician is headed, so they don’t keep calling the dispatcher every fifteen minutes?

Hi mate. It’s always the same with restaurants and cafes: if there aren’t any before-and-after photos or an instant signature on the screen, settling the bill drags on for weeks. We got rid of this chaos when we switched to specialized software with built-in digital forms. The technician simply can’t close out a job until they’ve taken the required photos and collected the customer’s signature. To automatically convert completed jobs into transparent invoices and track service call statuses, you should try serfy – this platform seamlessly integrates field work with accounting and provides customers with their own portal. There, customers can track the technician’s movements on a map themselves. And how many urgent service calls do you get on weekends?
