It’s very possible. I have done it and it works well. I am working on a Tutorial explaining how to do it.

Here is my rough draft

Expand your X98 Air device’s available disk space under windows by as much as 64GB w/o repartitioning

I only have a 32GB model. How is this possible ?
It is possible due to a combination of 2 factors:
1. The X98 Air supports a 64GB Micro SD card mounted under a persistent drive letter.
2. Windows has a little known, rarely used, and powerful command that allows us to create a special connection called a junction on the c: partition that can redirect to any other folder on the system, even if it’s on a completely different drive or filesystem.
This will allow us to seamlessly move a folder on our Windows C: drive along with all the disk space it consumes to the Micro SD drive. Once a folder has been redirected in this manner, any new files or folders that are created within this folder will actually be stored on the micro SD, instead of the Windows eMMc flash partition.
MKLINK /j <Link> <Target>
/j          Creates a Directory Junction.
<Link>         name of the symbolic link that is being created.
<Target>      path that the new symbolic link refers to.

for example:
My Skyrim installation takes up 13GB of space, and I am running low on space on my C: partition.
However, I cannot bring myself to uninstall it, as Skyrim is amazing, especially on a tablet.
So I browse to  C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ and I see the Skyrim folder.
I right click the folder, select Cut, then browse to my MicroSD (D:) to the \rel\win folder.
This is where I put all my folders that are relocated from Windows. I right click again and select Paste
Windows now moves my entire Skyrim folder from C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ to D:\rel\win\
Once the move is complete, I run this command:

mklink /j “C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim” “D:\rel\win\Skyrim”

This will create a junction named Skyrim in  C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\ that redirects to D:\rel\win\Skyrim, the folder I just created on my D: that contains my entire 13GB skyrim installation.
Once this command is complete, My Skyrim will continue to function just as it had before I moved it to my MicroSD, except now I have an additional 13GB of space available on my tablet’s Windows partition.

I now cross my fingers and try to launch Skyrim.
To my surprise it actually runs faster and more reliably from the MicroSD than it had from emmc.

Basically, you can transplant folders from the Windows partition.

I wouldn’t recommend trying to relocate any Windows system folders, but application and data folders are just fine.

You can even relocate a folder before you install a particular app.

That way, when you install it, it it is actually installed to the MicroSD

If you have any questions or want some help freeing up some space, just let me know

Thank you for the reply however I think you misunderstood by question. When I meant install apps on the sd in meant google play store apps on the android os onto an sd.either way though thank you for posting on how to expand windows space so worse comes to worse I’ll do a full flash and make windows have almost nothing but SD.an idea for you experiment using USB hard drives.they can have terabytes of space and you can plug them in using the otg.

For Android, the best method I have found to relocate apps or data to the MicroSD is an app called FolderMount.

Free on Google play. Check it out
