iplay 20 locked. keypad to enter pin not shown.

Hi,

I have this situation with the iplay20. I set a pin to unlock the screen. The keypad to enter the pin is not showing no matter what I do.

It mentions unlock to access data and apps, by swiping the screen up the entry field is shown, but by pressing the area where the input should be given, no keyboard shows up.

The only other option I have is going to “emergency call” (I don’t have a sim installed) and then I get an error about Gboard failing.

I can’t seem to find a way out of this. No updates of any kind were attempted on the tablet, much less firmware update etc.

Factory reset also leads me to a “no command” + dead robot screen, from which I can’t do anything (tried all combinations of power + volup+voldwn and also  volup+voldwn.

 

Can anyone give me a hint on how to escape this deadlock?

Hi Chris, thanks for the suggestion.

I tried that with a microsoft USB keyboard and a small type-c hub. No luck, keystrokes are not detected.

Tried on my Xiaomi Mi A1 and I could enter the pin with no problem.

Are there (working) instructions on getting a factory reset? I think it’s my only hope right now, but as I mentioned that too seems not to work.
