I’ve just bought an Air 13 and a Pro for family members, all me again in 3 months and I’ll tell you.
Initial experience is excellent though.

March 6, 2018 at 10:15 am #139750It is generally safe especially for people who need a laptop that does not cost too much for work and also for travel. What everyone should be wary about is the warranty offered by online sellers. If the laptop you buy does not have a service center in your country, you will need to send the laptop back to China at your own expense and they will either repair it or replace it and then send it back to you. Typically the warranty last 3 months, 6 months, and in case of known brands, 12 months. Some laptops on saleΒ for a really low price does not even offer warranties anymore. You really need to be cautious and do a lotof research because the same laptop you will find for a low price online, you could also buy in your country either in a physical shop or online shop but at a much higher price. Sometimes the difference is up to 40 percent more. But they do offer a local warranty for your peace of mind. Hope this helps.

March 6, 2018 at 4:28 pm #140318Xiaomi products will hold up well. My Mi Notebook Air 12 (6Y30) is over 2 years old and had a real beating from me. I ran it for almost 1 year as a fanless desktop mostly and it’s holding up just fine. The only thing is screen hinge isn’t as tight as it was. It’s a little looser due to me opening and closing it hundreds of times now.
The Mi Notebook Pro is an even better laptop and I’ve had one since November and no issues. Its hinge is almost much tighter out of the box than the Mi Air 13 or 12.
