It depends Albert. You will encounter issues thats for sure. Its up to you if you can live with it. Battery endurance is not so good so its more like having some portable desktop. Domt expect to use on an 8hour flight ir something.

Because of the battery mincrasheses in windows. Below certain battery level it becomes untrustful. Connect the charget its fine.

It looks good though and is quite fast. In android no problems.

If you want problems and have support when you do have then choose samsung. Support with teclast issimpel: none

Hi, I wanted to buy X98 Pro, but after reading this forum I have doubts about that. Would you suggest to buy it, anyway ? How is it that on this site this tablet has 7.6 rating ? After reading this forum I would say it is just not usable.

I gave it a 7.6/10 where it lost out on the rating was the throttling and battery life. I haven’t had any crash issues or any other issues. I wouldn’t say its crap, it’s the fastest X5 Z8500 4GB tablet I have tested and it beats the Asus Transformer Book T100 which also hits 86 degrees and throttles.

If you want the fastest 4:3 tablet then this is it. And it’s just $219, my Asus cost me close to $400 usd for the same spec chipset and ram. It’s not perfect if you can live with a 4 hour battery life, if not then I recommend the X98 Air 3G if you don’t need that extra gaming power.

crash in Windows, black screen and not booting afterwards

This is not a trifling issue  !!!

    And what about this  :

My K9C6 began to loop the Bios screen
It does not start android or windows.
Failed to locate emmc device path for specified controller:Not Found

Ok, you have answered your own question then. Move on, buy something else.

It is a matter of perspective – the price/performance ratio.

I suspect the majority of people who purchase an X98 Pro or the Air 3G do so on the understanding there will be certain “issues” or “quirks” with the device but are confident they can resolve them. The end result: a reasonably powerful tablet at a very competitive price.

People who want a Windows based tablet that will just work “without any issues” will – I suspect – opt for a Microsoft product, the Surface range for example. Although in saying that, my work colleague recently bought a Surface Pro 3 which refused to turn off after he shut it down…he subsequently returned it.

I am not in any way excusing Teclast for manufacturing sub standard hardware or indeed hardware that is defective from the onset – however, I do believe that the overall quality of their devices will improve over time. The situation is analogous to smartphones. Several years ago I was one of the many millions who only purchased Samsung/HTC phones. I then realised that there was a plethora of Chinese phones with similar specifications but at a third of the price.

    I switched.

I quickly realised that these cheaper phones did not quite have the build quality of their more expensive competitors nor the developer support – but I persevered as I did not want to pay the ridiculous prices charged by Samsung or HTC. Over time, the emergence of ZTE, Nubia, Huawei – in addition to others – has resulted in a better standard of device and forced the “3rd tier” manufacturers such as Umi, Bluboo, Zopo etc to improve their products too.

I believe we will experience the same improvement amongst tablet manufacturers, particularly when Huawei start producing dual boot devices!

I would therefore advise you to remain patient.

Things are improving and I have seen this, as for the Surface 3 Pro. Both of mine had system interrupt issues consuming 20-30% CPU and kill the battery life. I started a thread about the issue on the Microsoft forum over a year ago, it still rages on unsolved. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpro3-surfusingpro/surface-pro-3-high-cpu-load-when-idle-high-sysytem/d17d1332-3c00-402d-9f15-fecee27d1c45

This was an expensive tablet, 256GB model and the replacement I got had the exact same issue so I gave up and sold it at a loss. So even the top guys Microsoft have bugs and issues that have yet to be solved. And not one of the major tech review sites ever reported this issue. They might have had it, but would never speak of it….for a fear of never getting another review unit. Such is the corrupted world of tech reviews.

For $219-$235 for what you get the X98 pro is quite a deal. Hell just compare it to my Asus T100HA which had hardware screen issues and the X5 Z8500 in that ASUS performed much slower at almost double the cost, with an inferior screen. This surprised me, I expected the ASUS Transformer Book to be better.

I have been having Chuwi Vi8 for half a year (Windows 8.1 only).

It’s just perfect.  No problems whatsoever.  No registry tweaking. No battery issues.  Far beyond my expectations. Honestly!

I’ve assumed, naively I guess, the same quality for Teclast x98 Pro.

    4 G memory, Z8500, 2048*1536 – WOW !

But, if it cannot boot Windows I don’t need it even for 5 bucks.
