Isn't a Dockingstation the perfect accessory for a tablet? (Gigabit-Lan, DVI)

I’m a little bit surprised that there isn’t a thread about this topic here. Or possible i couldn’t find it.

In my opinion it would be great if Chris would make a review about that.

 

I’m ordered the iWork 10 Ultimate which supports USB 3.0 (Micro) it also has HDMI (Mini). It should be not a desktop replacement, but for some work yeah why not.

What I think about it is to buy a USB 3.0 Dockingstation with Gigabit-Lan, USB 3.0 Ports and last but not least DVI-I or HDMI.

And which product isn’t better suitable for a Dockingstation as a Tablet? The technique behind all that is a chip from DisplayLink and

USB 3.0 is fast enough. The well known Z8300 should be handle that fine.

 

Did somebody here already try that? Or Chris?

It is, which is why I’m after that Dell type-c docking station for my Cube i9. A one plug docking station. The USB 3 Pluggable ones should work. But a word of warning, the iwork10 USB 3 port wouldn’t work at USB 3.0 for me as per my review.

As I remember correctly, this problem was only based on power supply? Most of the Docking Stations coming with a DC-Adapter.
