I would say that isn’t normal at all, I’ve been reviewing these tablets and laptops for years now and never had an eMMC fail on me. Even my Vi10 eMMC is still fine, that’s almost two years old now. Teclast X98 also still working about 2 years old.

Next up for review:
Ordered and waiting for my: BMAX S15 & Teclast F6 Plus
Currently testing: LG G8X & Redmi K30March 31, 2017 at 11:10 pm #64369Maybe I was unlucky. But this laptop doesn’t have a SATA port so the only way I can repair it is if I bust out the soldering iron. I guess I’ll only buy laptops that are easy to repair.
April 1, 2017 at 10:32 am #64380Yes at least the EZBook 3 and other models have M.2 SSD slots. Things are improving a lot this year. Going to one of the best line ups yet when all the new full metal laptops are out, the new Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book screen tablets and notebooks etc.

Yes that’s true from the research I’ve done online. It’s definitely not going to be a Jumper though. I put up with that trampoline of a keyboard because I was desperate for a 1080p screen. This year, there’s a lot more models with 1080p screens so I might go with a Chuwi Lapbook 14.1 since it appears to have a better keyboard/quality than the other models.
EDIT: Actually, I’m going to wait and see the review of the Jumper Ezbook Pro & the Teclast X3 Plus. The fact that they have full metal builds and 6 gigabytes of RAM is enough for me to wait. I suppose I’ll use an old laptop in the meantime.April 28, 2017 at 9:17 pm #66232Hi,
Same issue with emmc for me. I had double boot with ubuntu. I turned it on only to upgrade it from time to time. Last week, Windows insider and ubuntu upgrades both failed. I try to reboot few times but at last I only get EFi shell. Now when I run live-usb, there is no storage anymore … ?
