What’s charge speed like for you folks? I plugged it in to charge and the percentage didn’t move AT ALL in 10 minutes, I’m half wondering if my device can even charge whilst in use o.O. Batterybar lists a charge rate of 0. Not promising…… I turned it off and left the house for 4 hours, possibly more and got from 0% to 70%. Not amazing :\.

I’m typing this from my Jumper EZPad 5s, which I also got from Gearbest’s Easter sale. First impressions are a lot like other folks. The tablet definitely feels solid, if not premium like a MS Surface. It managed to run a 3D game (Defense Grid 2) on lowest settings, but it was pretty choppy. It does, however, run any 2D games just fine.

I also initially thought the keyboard was utter crap. Now that I’ve used it for a couple days, I’ve warmed up to it a bit. It’s serviceable, but not great.

My biggest complaints are the SLOW eMMC memory, and the craptastic Broadcom chip for wireless. I don’t know if it’s just a driver thing or if the chip is really that bad, but sometimes it feels like I’m back in the 90s on a dial-up modem. EDIT–Sorry, the wireless thing was my fault, had my 2.4 ghz band misconfigured on my router. The Broadcom chip seems fine, though it’d be nicer if it were 802.11ac on 5 ghz.

Other than that, it’s a fantastic replacement for my old first generation Surface RT. It’s a great media tablet (streaming movies worked well, despite the wireless chip), and I can use it for web/powerpoint presentations. Most importantly, it’s in the awesome Surface form factor, and it costs hundreds less.

Charges in about 4 hours, rather slow. Maybe try another power adapter. I’m having no problems charging mine.

The FORESEE brand eMMC (Ncard in the device manager) is a slow one, but it doesn’t seem to affect the performance of Windows. Only when I transfer large files from a USB 3 pen to desktop for example it’s only around 30-40 mbs limited by the eMMC write rates.

Eh if I had another adapter I’d try, but I’ll make do. It does charge in uses just ever so slowly, airplane mode will be my go to when doing office work.

Just dumped the drivers to insert into a fresh windows iso, will see how that goes in the next few days. Going to play around with the bios in the mean time, very refreshing to see so many options open to configuration. I think upping the minimum dedicated graphics ram will be my first investment, boost is enabled regardless but with only 32mb dedicated I think it was, some of my programs will benefit from a base increase. Also curious to see if jumper release an android build for this device going by the bios, or if we see a similar device for porting, they do manufacture/design devices for other OEMs so I expect if not through jumper android may become available.

I received my Ezpad 5s several days ago.  The screen was better than I expected.  As has been mentioned, the charging was very slow.  I thought the keyboard was acceptable.  However, the touchpad has been barely usable.  It sometimes doesn’t seem to detect my touch.

However, the problem that I need help with is that after I shut my Ezpad off after increasing the maximum dedicated graphics in the BIOS, it doesn’t seem to boot up at all.  Is there a way to do a reset on the Ezpad?  This is also a warning to others.

Thanks for the warning, John. I was just about to try upping the video memory, but now I’ll hold off.

For everyone else who’s gotten theirs, have you tried plugging in headphones and watching something on Youtube, or another web-based media source? I get horrible crackling in my headphones, and it’s very disappointing. The Ezpad 5s is otherwise great for my use cases, but as-is there’s no way I can plug in headphones and watch movies. Should I try to contact Gearbest about this?

Also, Chris, will you be making a dedicated area in the forums for Jumper?

Same with mine. Whilst using it doesn´t seem to charge. The battery logo movement stops after 7 seconds. I turned it off and let it charge now. See if there is difference. I´ll let you know.

I also have the crackling. Really annoying. Contacting Gearbest will pobably not help: send it back, they send you a new one. Same problem.

Does anybody have experience with sending stuff back to Gearbest? Do they refund the money?

Thank you very much! I can use it well except touch screen. Can you upload sileadtouch.fw for me?

It does charge, but painfully slow. It doesn´t charge harder than losing power while in use. Which is a problem.

@bickler Oh, sorry to hear that John. To be on the safe side you should never touch the bios settings on these tablets. They aren’t set with fail safes and even such a basic setting like allocated GFX Ram can cause the bios to fail to boot up the system. I have been through some real nightmares with these tablets and learnt to keep out of there. You will need to open it up and flash it with a USB programmer, the bios is bricked.
