For me, it’s easy, for about $12 more over the i7 stylus ($299 on the i7 Book sale) you get Better Core M3-6Y30,Wireless AC, USB 3.1 Type-C and a better keyboard. The downside is it runs hotter.

Here is a link to a picture where I explain the problem :

    http://hpics.li/1e2060d

The palm rejection works, but only in one area of about 2/3rd of the screen. There is a band at the bottom and a band at the left side where the touch will stay active while the stylus is hovering. It only stops to be active when the stylus touch the panel I will take a quick video his evening (as asked by the support of SoCube) and put it online. It is very annoying for note taking purpose and quick sketching. For actual drawing I have no problem disactivating the touch panel in the hardware manager as I mostly use keyboard shortcut to activate commands in photoshop or Manga Studio. I have coded a .bat script that does that : disable touch panel and enable it.

I have received my 256Gb SSD so this evening I will try to install it and do a fresh install to see if it solves the issue. it will be interresting to see what drivers are not available on the web :). If it does not solves the issue I have one last resort : the Windows Insider Program has some build of Windows that implements a new setting for palm rejection : full screen palm rejection. I hope it will do the trick !

Yeah, probably getting one during the sales and hoping to get in hand within this month (no idea how long is the delivery period)…as of now, one of the major problem being report throughout this i7 book seems to be the palm rejection (which truly acted as a major problem towards those who used this as their working tools)

Here is the video I made for SoCube, the Aliexpress seller :

I hope it is quite clear. Does anybody else has the same issue than me ?

From my conversations with them, I think you need to make a video where you see and understand the problem with no words spoken (you should talk about it and all that, but it should be clear with no sound whatsoever what the issue is) as they don’t do English very well. Plus dialing back on exposure or while level or something to make the screen visible will help a lot.

I’m just not sure they’ll understand what you want from them otherwise.

So far no luck with the installation from start :

    • Installing the SSD was not that hard. The case is quite hard to open. The thermal shield is absolutely not like I imagined. I will definitely add some copper shim to do a thermal bridge between the CPU and the shielding.
    • After messing with the installation (failing due to a low quality pen drive), 9 peripherals are missing drivers
    • I installed Intel graphics and Wacom Feel driver just to test the palm rejection, and it does not work :'(

I am now trying with the windows insider program … kind of my last hope :'(

    ___EDIT ___

    It finally worked !!!

I tried something new while installing windows insider, so it may have worked with the fresh install … i guess I will never know ! …

@likoum Okay, I see what you mean now. I’ve been able to recreate the issue. The last inch of my screen in seems the palm rejection doesn’t work as it should, seems software related, I hope we can find a fix. I didn’t see this at first as I was writing in the middle of the screen. Honestly, I don’t use stylus’s much, my Surface Pro 4 stylus has only been used a few times.

I wonder if i7 Stylus drivers for the wacom digitizer will work? I don’t see why not. Maybe try those here: http://techtablets.com/cube-i7-stylus/downloads/ (Under i7 stylus wacom) and see if it fixes it?

And for the drivers you need, I’ll upload a i7 Book drivers dump soon.

I had spent sometime checking through some of the China’s forum and exactly the same issue is being report by them as well…seems to be a common problem for Cube.

Anyway, I guess I’ll get it when promo start launching on Banggood instead…the AliExpress thingy doesn’t seem to work as it still display the original price after tried switching around the package when I click on “add to cart”

I have solved the issue but I do not really know how. My best hypothesis is that the issue is not with the Wacom driver, but more on the “charms” area configured by default in Windows and the way it interract with the Cube i7 Book Hardware. Those Charms area are not rejecting palm in standard W10 behavior. The fact that the charms/gesture area are still active despite palm rejection has been highly criticized by many users, so they have modified it in the Windows Insider Program. I am currently using the Windows Insider version, and it’s not really that stable but the palm rejection works well.

    ____EDIT___

@ChrisG : I will wait for your driver dump, it will be of great help !

@Yannis : No everything is not working fine, but it’s working well enough for me. I hope that the driver pack will stabilize some issues I still have (G-Sensor not working, Bluetooth not able to use my phone as a 4G hotspot, and so on). The calibration is spot on in the wacom utility but it semms to not be that well propagated to the other software and the behavior is a little weird near the edges of the screen. I guess that there is still some work to do with the Wacom 25 points calibration utility but it looks promising : in the utility the stylus is more precise near the edges than the one of my cintiq. I don’t know why it looses precision once the calibration is closed. Anyhow it’s really good and I don’t draw near the edges anyway !

Hi @likoum, Here is the driver dump for the i7 Book http://techtablets.com/cube-i7-book/downloads/ Sorry for the delay, I have so much on my plate now and a 2 year old 😛

With that you should have everything covered, any issues please let me know. I’m about to upgrade my SSD to a larger one and do a fresh install. So I will be in the same boat as you!

I know how it is with time flying by so fast, no problem. Thanks a lot for the drivers, I’ll work on it this evening.
