    Hi,

After just having doing a fresh install of Win10 on a Hi8 Pro. They guy who owns it has put a password on his Hi 8 (not pro).

Have no idea why he needs 4 tablets (these 2 and others).

I have a powered hub (tried USB 2 and a USB 3 hubs). and the mouse and KB and flash drive are all there at windows login.

The guy who owns it cannot read or write to well and he can’t remember how he entered a password.

Booted in android mode and the mouse and KB also work with the same config of hub KB etc.

When I boot to the bios of the Hi 8 I can only use the vol up and down to move between the left 2 options.

But I cannot get a KB to go so that I can reinstall win 10 on it for him.

Anyone have any other ideas on what I can try.

    Thanks.

    Thanks,

Yep tried 2 different USB keyboards, have not tried bluetooth one.

I also tried as suggested in other posts of unplugging and replugging the KB into hub to see if that would work and come up. Lights on KB did flash for a second when inserted but no response.

Now I assume its the arrow keys that should move the selection. If its page -up and down or something else I have not tried other combo’s.

But the caps lock light does not come on when at Bios, but as I said all good at windows login screen (with unknown password) and in android mode.

I think when I did his Hi8 Pro I just booted from the USB and it re-installed, the KB and mouse were not required until I had to do the country settings after re-install.

    Hi,

OK seems no-one has any other suggestions?

Is there a way to change the bios boot options from the android boot side of the machine?

<span style=”font-size: small;”>OK, Finally got it sorted out.

I changed 2 things to get it fixed, so I’m not sure which fixed it but by all means try both.

First I used a new OTG cable, the old one still works with everything else so I’m not sure if thats it.</span>

What did seem to work was NOT removing the KB from the hub and replugging it in as suggested in another post (I tried that with the old OTG cable as well as the new one).
What made the KB come back was removing the otg cable from the tablet 3 times and then the KB finally came up.

    Hope this helps someone else.</span>
