Sorry, couldn’t say as I haven’t bought the new model. But my guess is it would be the same. It doesn’t need the mod only if you plan to increase the performance above the default config via Increased power limits. The heatsink as per my video hands-on looks like it is for another model, but it still works fine at stock TDP.
The 64GB version is not worth it at all. Better of with the 32GB version and then installing an SSD.
