Can’t somebody just check their “Settings > About tablet” on Android for me? Seriously, I’m not asking much here.

I have an M5F8 too but haven’t run the OTA update – I understand on the original M5F6, the OTA screwed up the dual boot system, causing Android to not boot anymore.  I asked here if it was fixed with the M5F8 model but nobody answered.

And having never updated, I can tell you that the security patch level is May 1, 2016, like yours.

Thanks. I wanted to see if there are any fixes or improvements and whatnot. I’m not too afraid of borking the system, because I have Macrium Reflect backups of the whole drive, and it has saved my butt before.

What is this “Macrium Reflect” of which you speak?  Actually just did a few searches.  Looks like it’s backup/imaging software that runs under the Windows side.  So it does backups of the Android partition too?  Sounds pretty handy!

Do you use the free version or did you pay for it?

Yes it backups the Android partition as well. I use the rescue media of the paid version from my main PC. I don’t have it installed, because it can take up a lot of space, especially the WADK used to build WinPE.

To restore, you’ll need to boot into the rescue media, unless you’re restoring Android partition in Windows. To operate the rescue media, you need a USB mouse or the touchpad on the keyboard cover.
