Let’s discuss the ergonomics of hard plate carriers. I’ve noticed that many models emphasize minimalism and laser-cut MOLLE, but how does this feel in practice when wearing the vest for more than a couple of hours? I’m curious to know which brands or design solutions best distribute the weight of 10×12-inch plates without causing shoulder stiffness or lower back pain. Share your experience: do the internal shock absorbers and ventilation mesh help, or will your back “fall off” with gear weighing 8-10 kg?

Based on my experience, I can say that the most important thing about a good plate carrier is speed. If you can’t quickly put it on or take it off in an emergency if you’re injured, such gear is worthless. I bought a vest with a quick-release system and EVA foam shoulder straps. It’s a world away from older replicas – the weight is distributed so well that your back doesn’t fall apart after a long day. Plus, the vest has plenty of space for an IFAK first aid kit and magazines. I bought the plate carriers directly from the manufacturer; they also offer an interest-free installment plan if you’re on a budget. I recommend visiting their website and examining the design in detail or reading other reviews.
