    Hello everyone!

    So i have tried two different SSDs. One was KingSpec and the one i use now is DogFish. Both 2242 and both 240GB. Having tried few different distributions i always come across same error in kernel dmesg. Its being registered there on average every 30 minutes of usage.

    [ 5.700290] ata1.00: exception Emask 0x10 SAct 0x0 SErr 0x280100 action 0x6 frozen
    [ 5.700361] ata1.00: irq_stat 0x08000000, interface fatal error
    [ 5.700404] ata1: SError: { UnrecovData 10B8B BadCRC }
    [ 5.700441] ata1.00: failed command: READ MULTIPLE EXT
    [ 5.700482] ata1.00: cmd 29/00:80:80:08:10/00:01:00:00:00/e0 tag 1 pio 196608 in res 50/00:00:af:44:f2/00:00:1b:00:00/e0 Emask 0x10 (ATA bus error)
    [ 5.700606] ata1.00: status: { DRDY }

    I have dug deep into this error but coldn’t find any solution as to what can cause this problem. It always points to either bad sata or power cable, faulty PSU or simply failing SSD. What i have found is that im not the only one with EZbook 3 pro. Im guessing it just might be some strange controller firmware issue or maybe design fault with power distribution that would explain why so many people have problem with their SSD registering on boot.

    Another strange thing is that i installed Linux mint back in November and i had working touchpad and now after installing new version of Mint touchpad  is gone. Couldn’t find any solution so far apart from a patch for the kernel which i havn’t tried yet as i haven’t got a time to set and recompile kernel atm. Does anyone knows of any better solution to touchpad problem?

    I have also tried this kernel parameters:

    libata.force=noncq libata.dma=0 libata.atapi_passthru16=0
