Hi, it’s a good idea, but there really isn’t the room for that.

Hang on though, those extender kits are designed to be cut down to the correct size, and the cable itself is at the top of the assembly.

It looks like you might be able to fit the first adaptor cut right back to the cable interface, then fit the second cut to a 2260 form factor perpendicular to the two M2 ports (stuck down with pads/adhesive) – then you could pop in a 560/500 2260 512gb drive, say for example, a Crucial MX200. The ribbon cable has plenty of length for that.

I can’t see a 2280 going in there anytime soon, but maybe there’s room for that? What do you think Chris; you’ve had it open? 🙂

Would be dead handy, as 2260 512gb MX200’s are pretty cheap right now.

Although granted … Not a shed load of point since you can pick up 512gb 2242’s, but hey, fun project.

The only 2242 drive I could find is from Transcend and is 200 euros.
Transcend MTS400 512GB is a drive with decents speeds but compared to larger m.2 samsung and crucial pretty expensive.
The smaller drives also costs a lot more than the larger m.2 drives
Also Transcend quality isn’t as good as samsung.

Please link the 2242 drives with 512gb or more because I couldn’t find any other!
