Hi,
I stumbled across below news(?) and from what I can gather the Xiaomi Mi 6 will start shipping to non-Chinese customers mid-June.
The specs looks nice and is in many ways a boosted Mi 5 (I appreciate mine very much and the build quality and speed is great)
It supposedly ships with Nougat 7.1 (under MIUI 8? – sounds contradictive as my MIUI 8 now is 6.0),
6GB RAM (twice the Mi 5’s) and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, 10% more battery life too – 3350 mAh
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC
Prices vary but I see it listed at both Aliexpress ($499) and as preorder on Gearbest and Banggood.
Anyone preordered or consider getting it? I guess the double RAM and if there’s a launch deal I’ll go for it, otherwise the $500 does not fully justify the upgrade from my 6mnths old Mi 5 🙂

(it is relevant to my note on MIUI8 running Android 6 or 7 though)
As I was fiddling around with my Mi5 checking the Updater seeing if it could get Nougat as I’ve heard it was about too.
But nope, no updates available – still ran 8.1.2 MIUI. But lo and behold, I stumbled upon the wisdom of the internet:
I changed Region to India and suddenly my MI Updater had 8.1.4 update available and after that 8.2.2 and with that Android 7.0 (not that any of the Nougat additions are immediately visible under MIUI)
Hmmmm.
