Mi 6 announced and shipping dates

Oh, yeah and it’s without the 3.5mm audio jack but instead it’s splashproof. So that should weigh in favor or disfavor towards the Mi 5 depending on preference.

I’ve ordered one, so I’ll find out all about it when I get it around the 5th May. I hope it’s as good as it looks on paper.

Not sure if this thread is the best place, or if this is already common knowledge.

(it is relevant to my note on MIUI8 running Android 6 or 7 though)

As I was fiddling around with my Mi5 checking the Updater seeing if it could get Nougat as I’ve heard it was about too.

But nope, no updates available – still ran 8.1.2 MIUI. But lo and behold, I stumbled upon the wisdom of the internet:

I changed Region to India and suddenly my MI Updater had 8.1.4 update available and after that 8.2.2 and with that Android 7.0 (not that any of the Nougat additions are immediately visible under MIUI)

 

Hmmmm.
