Mi Notebook Pro security question

Hi,

I am planning to buy this laptop and I would like to know if anyone has run some network captures on it to check if it’s “calling home” to China.

This is going to sound a bit paranoid but as this laptop is aimed to the Chinese market I fully expect that it has some built-in mechanism enforced by the government to allow some level of control.

So the question is has anyone run a full capture after doing a full wipe?
