January 17, 2016 at 8:30 am #22685After some google I found the solution:
http://www.surfaceforums.net/threads/windows-10-microphone-no-longer-works.16116/
“Start Device Manager and remove your … sound device. Then reboot. Windows 10 will take a fresh look at your hardware and take care of the settings…”
It worked for me!!
March 17, 2016 at 1:18 pm #29773It works for me too but only till the next boot. Then I have to repeat the procedure. I think the sound driver has a bug. Even when the microphone is there it cannot be configured. It gives an error “Windows Shell Common Dll has stopped working”
March 31, 2016 at 4:36 pm #31517Is there a solution to this? Still no microphone in my Hi10.
Very annoying, no Skype, no Viber….
July 12, 2016 at 10:28 pm #43311Has anyone found a solution for this… I am having to delete the speaker driver and reboot every time to get the microphone portion to reload? Is there another driver for this?
July 13, 2016 at 3:38 am #43324If you install any anti-virus software, please uninstall it.
Here is a customer feedback who has some microphone issue on Hi10:
”
I got the hi10 win 10 file to shared ( had to get my father to DL as mine keeps failing).
Installed the win 10 and the mike was ok on reboots and restarts.
Re-installed all the drivers and mike was ok on reboots and restarts.
Re-installed Skype and mike still ok on reboots and restarts.
Installed Classic shell and mike OK on reboots and restarts.
Installed AVG Free and the mike was gone again after its install reboot.
Uninstalled AVG using their remover tool and the mike came back without having to remove the sound devices.
I had to uninstall all the sound devices and reboot to get them back before, but not once avg was removed.
”
Hope it will help you!
July 13, 2016 at 9:58 pm #43383Hm… I have the AVG.
Would some other, like Avast work better?
EDIT:
YES! I removed AVG and installed Avast = problem solved, microphone works fine.
