Mouse disables keyboard?

Today I used an external USB mouse with the ezbook 3 pro and had some weird issues:

If the machine is running and I plug in the mouse, the keyboard stops responding completely.

If I start the laptop  with the mouse already plugged( like a restart for example) the keyboard works for a couple of hours before stops working again. It won’t start working until I reboot again.

I’m runnning Linux Mint 18.3. Don’t know if any other Linux (or Windows) user have had the same problem as me?

Let me test Linux out and see. Brad could also help with this one as I know he runs Linux on his unit, to me it sounds like a software issue and not hardware.

What distro are you using?

Linux Mint 18.3. Tried both Cinnamon and XFCE
