When I use a USB3.1 Type-C Hub (HDMI, SD reader, two USB3) and my usb dongle wireless mouse, HDMI Display out, I get freezing issue when ever I access any storage; SSD or MicroSD.
Really hoping this isn’t the hub’s fault mainly because I tried two ways:
- Mouse freezes when I run something like a game or HD Tune, DiskMark that continuously accesses the other ports. Freezes when mouse and HDMI are used from the one hub.
- Mouse freezes when only HDMI out from hub + Mouse USB dongle in i9’s USB3.0 port.
Mouse resumes normal function after “storage access” is over, playing a game it freezes every few seconds for a 1-3 seconds, but when I ran Diskmark(constant storage Reading) mouse just froze up till the bench was done.
Could this be some sort of “can only use one at a time” issue? feels very bizarre, I would have blamed the hub but the issue persists even when I don’t have the mouse’s dongle plugged into the hub. Makes it feel like what ever hardware is being used to run the USB3.1 port doesn’t like handling the full 3.1 spec (excluding Type C charging, Cube kept saying the i9 doesn’t support it, sadly)
I’m using the (eBay item number: 401161403301) hub, I know its from eBay so some people will automatically blame poor quality, but again, still no dice only using the hub as a Display out.
Does anyone else use a Hub with the Cube i9, Which? and have you tested/used Display-Out and no mouse issues when doing anything storage related.
