I read your post multiple times and I’m not sure what you are asking.
It seems you want to increase storage space on your tablet and decided to get an external USB hard drive.

Honestly, depending on your tablet and usage, this may not be the best solution.
Lots of tablets include a MicroSD card slot. This should be the first solution to increase storage. This is both cheap and discreet.

Not all tablets have a full USB port and/or support USB OTG (acting as USB master, allowing to plug peripherals).

If you want to know what portable HDD to buy, follow any of the recommendations found online. Here is another website whose recommendations have been pretty good so far:

    The Best Portable Hard Drive

    1. About xbox compatibility,  any usb storage recognized as “Mass Storage device” (that is, most if not all) should work.
    2. RPM will depend on the product you buy, but most portable USB HDD are 5400 rpm, as random access are typically non-critical.
    3. For warranty, this will depend where in the world you are and your reseller.

I would personally NOT go for a USB HDD to extend a tablet storage. My preferences would be:

    1. SD/microSD card (if the tablet supports it)
    2. small usb flash drive ( https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-128GB-SDCZ43-128G-G46-Version/dp/B00YFI1EBC )
    3. wireless HDD storage ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178321 )
