Hi! Got a Chuwi Hi8 as a Christmas gift for my son and upon the first look got a few questions. I apologize if my questions are basic.
- Windows 10 upgrades
- Internal Storage formatting
- Android 4.4.4 multi user support
- Upon first load, Windows 10 found new systen updates but continuously fails to update, the error code suggests insufficient storage space. I added a 64GB MicroSD card (visible through File Explorer) but the error persists.
- I checked the Disc C in Disc Management and saw a whole set of different partitions there. I understand some are for Win10, other for Android, but the number of partitions is insane. The amount of free space upon first load was about 7 GB in Win10. Is this normal? Is there a way to confirm the internal storage was properly formatted?
- Switching on to Android side of things: is there a way to enable a multi user login on Android 4.4.4? For a kid tablet, I want to maintain my separate login (admin profile), and give a restricted account to my kid. Is it doable? If yes, can you please suggest the way to do that?
- Are there any Android OS updates (beyond version 4.4.4) available for Chuwi Hi8 users?
- Is the process of OS updates any different on the DualOS system? Can updating to a newer version of Windows or Android ruin the dual boot support? Any steps to minimize or remove that chance?
I really would love to see a beginner user guide for these chinese dual OS tablets that are getting more and more popular. I am sure people out there are already experienced enough to put together such a guide. Or perhaps it exists already?
