New Hi12 stylus useless, creators update not downloading

Hi, the pen shouldn’t be doing that. You can manually install the creator’s update. Maybe it will fix the pen, but it sounds like you have either a faulty pen or the part of the digitizer that handles the pen input is not right.

I have read a lot of bad comments on the HI pen.  Did anybody ever checked if the Microsoft stylus for surface pro 3 works on the Chuwi Hi12?

They are supposed to have the same screen?

Now to answer the windows 10 migration issue, I have successfully upgraded in a first step to version to version 1603 and then to creator simply using the microsoft update tools through  Media creation tools.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and Chuwi Hi12 share the same screen but use different digitizers. The Surface Pro 3 uses N-Trig, the Hi12 has a Goodix digitizer.
