Gearbest are authorising mine to be sent back. I didn’t mention the BIOS update, just told them of the symptoms of not turning on after rebooting. Has to go to China though. Now wondering whether I should get this one again or a different one as replacement ..

So just tried to flash the new bios on mine. Failed at the last step, now the tablet boots to a black screen with DnX Fastboot Mode in yellow on it.

Even if I try and reflash via the boot screen it just goes straight to the DnX screen.

    Anyone got any ideas?

Just to update on my brick. Gearbest are accepting for mine to be returned and replaced with the cube iWork 10 instead. Just need to get it to China from the UK, the cheapest I can find being 20-25GBP

Has anbody has flashed this WiFi fix BIOS.  Anbody used the latest Hi  Book Bios (wifi) via afuwin(exe) tool – this is total diferrent than the initial HiBook BIOS via USB Flash Drive.

The WiFi signal/troughput is rather poor. I hoped that Chuwi is a better than the Teclast TBook 10.

I was going to flash it as soon as I got my HiBook, but then I read all these complaints AND my wifi works fine even with the older version.  So I’m not going to even try unless I have a better reason.

Yes, you can use this keyboard to push F7 and enters on boot menu.

I have used the HiBook keyboard to connect the USB stick any for typing as well.
My WiFi throughput is now much better than before.

Ok, I just updated my bios. I used an OTG cable to connect my USB Stick, but I used my keyboard dock to type. The install went well, but at the end it gave me some “XYZ is not compatible error” and I got dumped into a shell. I just typed “exit” into it and the tablet rebooted into Windows mode.

    Thanks for the help

I updated my BIOS, but didn’t improve WIFI in Android at all. This is my problem:

After wakeup from a longish (10-15 minutes long) sleep period my network connection becomes very slow. The loading of web pages hang and I cannot connect to the FTP server I am running on the tablet, so local network access suffers too. The interesting thing is that WIFI is not completely dead. The signal indicator shows full strength and I can ping my router and the IP address of youtube.com. I don’t see anything special in the logs. After 2-3 minutes of suffering the connection becomes normal and everything loads with normal speed.
In windows WIFI looks to be OK, so it must be some kind of software/driver problem in Android. Somehow WIFI screws up after a few minutes of inactivity. Maybe it doesn’t come back from power save mode in time, I am only guessing.
I am getting fed up with this really….

I can confirm the bios update resolves the wifi issue, more stable and much faster. Still has issue with bluetooth slowing the wifi drastically however 🙁
