Hi guys, I’m loooking for a new tablet, so far I haven’t found any matching exactly what I want. So I hope you can help me with making the best compromise.

    My ideal tablet would be:

    8.9″

    4:3 screen ratio

    4GB RAM

    min. 32GB ROM

Android (Would be nice to have a dual boot system, but if not Android for me)

    relatively thin

    Decent processor.

I’ve been looking at the Onda V891 and V891w as they seem to be the only 8.9″ tablets out there worth looking at, although the screen ratio is 16:10.

They are however not getting that great feedback on xda.

    1. Onda V891/W specs: ($120 / $140 )

    8.9″ screen- 1200 x 800 / 1920 x 1200
    32GB/64 ROM, 2GB RAM
    Intel Atom Z3735F processor
    400g
    225 x 133 x 8.9 mm

    2) Cube i6 Dual boot tablet – Android 4.4 KitKat / Windows 10. ($155) (Too large from what I am looking for, but seems to get nice feedback?)
    9.7″ 2048 x 1536
    32GB rom, 2GB RAM
    Intel Atom Z3736F, processor
    520g
    237 x 170 x 8.8 mm
    3g radio

    Mainstream tablets

    3) Asus ZenPad S 8.0 Android 5.0 ($200 – much better spec’d version available for $300)

    7.85″ 2048 x 1536

    32GB ROM, 2GB RAM

    Intel Atom Z3530, processor

    350g

    203.2 x 134.5 x 6.9 mm

    4) Xiaomi MiPad ($200) Android, MIUI

    7.85″ skærm – 2048 x 1536

    16GB ROM, 2GB Ram

    Nvidia Tegra K1 processor

    360g

    202.1 x 135,4 x 8.5 mm

There’s the Pipo W6S, which is 8.9″ but 16:10 (1920×1200). It does have 64GB flash, which seems to be almost essential for a dual-boot tablet (it’s possible on 32GB, but neither OS has a whole lot of spare space). Hard to find reviews of it, unfortunately.

Pipo W6s and Onda w891w seems pretty similar in specs, and in price.

Is there any general rule of thumb as two whom of Pipo and Onda that is the smartest manufacturer to chose?

I might get a 4:3 8″ inch tablet instead of the 8.9″ 16:10, as the aspect ratio matters quite a bit for me, after a lot of 16:9 and 16:10 devices I want a 4:3 device 🙂

Input about which 4:3 8″-8.9″ is greatly appreciated too 🙂

@mathiasdk You only have the 4:3 Teclast X89 then and it has an very sharp retina 300+ ppi screen.

As I am mostly going to use Android, would you recommend me getting the Asus Zenpad S. 8.0 instead?

    • I can see some people advising against getting a 32GB dual boot machine, as there is hardly any room available to each partition?

Yes I advise not to get dual boot 32GB ones and you don’t really have enough room, 64GB models are much better and the price difference isn’t much.

Also look at the Samsung Tab S2 8.0 inch, very thin and a nice SAMOLED 4:3 screen, not as bloated as the Asus. Might be jsut what you’re after, it’s chipset is fast too.
