No dual boot after upgrading to Windows 10

Hi everybody!

First of all, sorry for the bad English in the following lines, English is not my mother tong and I hope I’m readable…

I’m opening this topic because I really don’t know how to solve my problems…

A few days ago, I updated my Vi8 dual boot from W8.1 to W10, and experienced a few problems…

At first, I downloaded it without any problems, had the option to put the W8 backup files into an empty micro SD card and installed W10 without any issue. But once everything installed, W10 was very laggy, and I could’nt even play a video (awful framerate, I could even see the images appearing from one side of the screen to another, as if I tried to play a 1080p movie on a pentium 4). I didn’t have any other issue (still have the Android switch button and everything) but it wasn’t usable, so I decided to do a “factory W10 reset” (while noticing the option to install W8 back), and that’s where things went bad…

 

The 2nd reset worked to 99% and then the tablet rebooted and a blue bios window asking me to “clear the TPM” apeared (watch the picture attached). I immediatly thought it will wipe the Android partition (yes my knowledge about computers is not really good), so I decided to keep my “TPM” as it was. This time, W10 wasn’t as laggy as it was before, but the touch screen was inverted, the accelerometer didn’t work anymore, and, more important, the button to switch from Windows to Android wasn’t there anymore… I decided to restore factory settings again (as advised by Peter Scharf there: http://techtablets.com/forums/topic/windows-10-upgradeclean-installation-guide-for-dummies/#post-9478 ) to see it’ll work.

 

I decided to clear the TPM as the BIOS asked me again for the 3rd reboot.

 

I think the 5th restoration was the good one, as W10 now works flawlessly once I did the trick to “repair” the touch screen. It’s really fast and works good. BUT I still have two problems, and really don’t know how to solve it:

 

– The accelerometer doesn’t work anymore on W10 (it works fine on android), even if I restored all drivers with Double driver, and then even manualy with several drivers I found on this website.

 

– The switch button from W10 to Android is still not there (yeah, I know, Santa doesn’t exist…) BUT the Android partition is still there and usable if booted from the BIOS (that’s how I know the accelerometer works on Android) and I can freely switch to Windows from Android.

 

My questions are, how can I do to make the accelerometer work normaly, and is there any way to reinstall the soft used to switch from Windows to Android?

 

I read Adrian Fedele ( http://techtablets.com/forums/topic/windows-10-upgradeclean-installation-guide-for-dummies/#post-9093 on this forum) managed to get it back, but don’t know how…

 

Can someone help me?

Hi,

I also did the upgrade (directly from windows) yesterday and I also think that I also lost the switch button.

But There is a new topic created by Justin which describes a complete (successful) upgrade process with a Dual Boot Chuwi

I will try to compensate my “own” upgrade  with the following files/packages provided on the post

• the install of the “win10 drivers for chuwi”

• the “OS Switcher”

One thing you can try is to reinstall Windows 8.1 – the Original one that came with your Chuwi. These links will help you. Use Google translate to your language and see if it helps

You don’t need to reinstal Windows 8.1 to get Android button. When you uprade to Windows 10, go to settings , and in option click to show all icon … And you will get back android button 😉

my case is worse: i lost android by deleting the raw partitions!

how can u get it back?

In fact, I managed to solve my problems (excepté for the gyroscope/accelerometer).

I just had to Read a bunch of topics from the chuwi forums on This website…
