No Microphone in Windows 10

it’s the intel sst audio driver from windows update that cause it (in my device at least), try to roll back the driver or use driver booster or similar software to update the driver.

Thanks for the tip, i wasn’t sure if it would be part of the intel speakers driver or a separate one so that is useful. I rolled back the driver (had to do this in safe mode) and i still i have no microphone input. I will have to keep fiddling around i guess. Annoyingly i also have tried uninstalling the driver so i can manually install the one that is in the downloads on this website, but it comes straight back in device manager.

I will report back if i ever get it working in case anyone else has the issue.

EDIT SOLVED: thanks for the tip for using driver booster, it found that their was a new driver for intel sound, updated it and it worked!
