I have one of the tablets with only Windows (from the first batch, serial number below 2000) and I updated last night without a problem. Even more, before the update the tablet didn’t recognice the microphone, and now it works!!! I don’t know why, but I’m happy with it.
In your case I don’t know, I would probably wait before removing the Android partition, probable someone with more knowledge could advise you better. Good luck!
August 6, 2016 at 8:16 pm #45934I have dual OS chuwi Hi8 Pro and yesterday updated without problem. You can switch off hibernation via command line and turn off page file, so you’ll get extra space
It started updating yesterday, then went to reboot and now I have UEFI boot errors. :/
I ordered a USB OTG hub a few days ago, and it should be here tomorrow, so looks like I have to re-image windows regardless. Thanks for the help, though. I’ll let you know how I make out.
August 7, 2016 at 8:04 am #45977Hi Guys,
I switched off the pagefile and hibernation, removed all the programs I put on, but still it will not update through lack of disk space. I have to use the Windows upgrade assistant as the online upgrades says Windows is up to date.
August 10, 2016 at 6:54 am #46306Hi All,
If you download the windows update tool it only requires 8 Gb of free space, I say only as I have nothing on mine and only have 5.7 GB free. Turning off the page file only frees up 800mb.
<span style=”color: #f84103;”>https://www.microsoft.com/es-es/software-download/windows10</span>
September 10, 2016 at 7:51 pm #49411Hi,
I don’t know if an answer is still needed but here it is anyway, maybe it helps somebody else in future…
Yesterday I upgraded my Chuwi Hi8 Pro Dual Boot to the latest Version of Windows 10.
1. I downloaded the 32Bit version of Windows 10 Anniversary Update ISO file form Microsoft. In my case it was the German language file: “Win10_1607_German_x32.iso”
2. On my Win10 PC I doubleclicked the ISO file to mount it as a virtual DVD drive and copied the content of “DVD” onto a Micro SD card.
3. On the Chuwi tablet I deleted quite a few things I didn’t need anymore but didn’t go into details. In the end I had about 5.4 GB free.
4. I started the setup.exe on the SD card drive on the tablet.
5. When I was asked if I wanted to download updates during installation I chose “No”.
6. When I was asked what I want to keep on the tablet (apps and data (was greyed out); data only; nothing) I selected nothing because I was happy to have a clean installation anyway.
7. During the installation I left the tablet on power, it rebooted a few times and after about 2 hours it was successfully done.
8. After the first login it downloaded and installed language packages and some updates. All drivers incl. Touchscreen and Wifi worked instantly.
9. I ran “Disk cleanup” including the system files to remove the backup of the old installation and now I have 8.7 GB available disk space on my C: drive. The SD card can now be removed, it was only needed for the installation files.September 28, 2016 at 3:47 am #51060Hi, I don’t know if an answer is still needed but here it is anyway, maybe it helps somebody else in future… Yesterday I upgraded my Chuwi Hi8 Pro Dual Boot to the latest Version of Windows 10. 1. Hi, just wanted to add that this method worked for me too. Downloaded Windows 10 English ISO here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO/ , mounted and copied files to an SD card, and ran setup.exe on the tablet from the sd card. Took a couple hours, but system is working fine, no driver updates needed.
