Did you try an external usb keyboard and hit ctrl+alt+del?

3.7V is an empty lipo battery. 4.2V is a charged one. That might explain it. You could use a cheap 1s lipo USB charger, as used for the smaller quadcopters. it should deliver about 250-400mah Keep an eye on the voltage though, these cheap chargers have the tendency to be calibrated at 4.25 cut off.

but the label says 3.7V on the battery.

Nominal voltage of the lipo cells is 3.7v, 3.5V is near empty, and 4.2V is fully charged. Best voltage for long term storage is 3.7-3.8V

unless they are using a different chemistry, but it normally is ‘just’ a lithium polymer battery.

I turned mine by connecting the power cable and pressing the power buton a couple of times. Without the power cable I was not able to turn the tablet on!

This is a Windows 10 issue and not the Hi12. This happened to Lenovo, Acer, HP and Samsung laptops running Windows10!
