Hi, how’s your battery holding up on the original Mi Notebook Pro?
I have dual boot windows and osx mojave, and I noticed, if I charge my notebook on osx, the battery is getting destroyed like crazy.
It was already at 13% wear level, but it was fine, but yesterday I charged the battery on OSX, and the wear level is now at 28%.
This is crazy. Do you think I can lower it somehow?
Or any official replacemenet battery I can buy? I saw some on alliexpress but I don’t know if it is genuine.
December 29, 2020 at 3:06 pm #220789After 2 years and 8 months my Mi Notebook Pro holds up pretty well. I don’t have dual boot, but I use it quite a lot during the day and by night I like to play CSGO and Rocket League with friends. This makes the laptop quite hot, so the battery might wear out a little faster than with regular use.
How do you check the wear of your battery? I checked it with the battery-report.html, but this doesn’t say much. It didn’t even count the cycles. The design capacity is 60 040 mWh and since the beginning (2018-04-02) it indicates a full charge capacity of 58 588 mWh, which is still the same? I suppose this is wrong and it has decreased over the years, but I have no idea how to check it.

You can calculate your wear level by the info you provided, it’s about 2.4%.
I use CPUID hardware monitor.
My full charge capacity is now at 41207 mWh, so about 32% wear. Think I need a new battery.

Sidenote: I do take care of my batteries by not charging them higher than 60 % and discharging lower than 35 %. Occasionally I charge more when I know I wont have an outlet close by or when I’m gaming and plugged in for 2 hours.
