October 6, 2015 at 5:44 am #12671Don’t have that tablet but my Vi10 4.4 recognizes exfat.
October 6, 2015 at 3:48 pm #12714Perhaps I should run some tests with smaller cards. Different combinations. Hmm.
October 6, 2015 at 10:57 pm #12733Tried exfat and ntfs on a 64GB, 32GB and a 16GB. Same result for all 6 tests.

Similar issue with my Hi8 (same specs as shown in your picture), but Android side wont show SD partition in Settings / Storage (there is option to “mount” SD, but nothing happens when clicked, just changes shade of colour).. it cannot even be found with root explorer (tablet rooted with instructions foundi in Chuwi V10 rooting -chain in these forums. The one with temporary CWM -session). Nevertheless Android notifies when removing card manually and Link2SD can use ext4 side of the card fine. Tried also ExFAT, FAT32 and NTFS but these partitions are visible only on Win 10 side.. tried to find info from these forums and via search engines with no luck. Anyone got any idea how to make this work? Many thanks! and hopefully this wont distract the thread you made Raqtor.
February 10, 2016 at 9:57 pm #25649Raqtor, and Risto, I’m just wondering if either of you were ever able to find any solutions to this problem?
February 11, 2016 at 7:58 am #25680My chuwi hi8 also cann`t read ntfs, exfat on android.Only solution is to make 2 partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard because is free.
With minitool delete all partition, create first partition ntfs or exfat because windows will see only first partition created. This partition you will use in windows.2nd partition make it ext2 , if you have root acces you can move app on this partition with link2sd.On ext2 partition you can only move app with link2sd ,this partition will be vizible only in link2sd.
don
t forget 1st partition ntfs or exfat,2nd ext2 because isnt recomanded to be ext3 and tablet cant read on android ext4 i dont know why.February 11, 2016 at 2:33 pm #25706My chuwi hi8 also cann`t read ntfs, exfat on android.Only solution is to make 2 partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard because is free. So the android partition on your Hi8 can recognise Ext2? That’s interesting, because I’ve also read comments from other users saying that the Hi8 can’t recognise either Ext2 / 3 or 4, I guess it is hit and miss.
Am I correct in thinking that Ext2 does not have the same 4gb file limit that Fat32 has? If that’s the case, I might still buy the tablet, in order to play my 15gb HD movies from a microsd.
Also, have you ever tried stickmount to get around the issue of android not recognising exFAT? It requires root, but a user on XDA claims it should solve the issue, and I was wondering if it’s does, because that would be quite an easy way to fix the problem

February 11, 2016 at 4:00 pm #25716arshad on ext2 partition you can`t put any files like films, photos you can move only app with link2sd.But you can put bigger files like movies on exfat partition and acces them in windows.I have better screen on time in windows than android.
February 11, 2016 at 5:45 pm #25732Tried several solutions. This android just can’t read exfat or ntfs. Making 2 partitions is not supported on sd cards. But it is possible with some hacks. Still doesn’t solve the issue that you can’t use your big files on the android side.

i’m really disappointed to hear that, it’s the only thing holding me back from buying the tablet. I was really hoping stickmount or this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.paragon.mounter&hl=en_GB would work, because they are designed exactly for these types of situations. guess I’ll keep searching for a work-around on forums, please let me know if you come across anything in the future! thanks for the help
February 27, 2016 at 3:12 am #27214My thread is for the Chuwi Vi10, but the exFAT and NTFS mod should also work on the Hi8 if it mounts the SD card at /storage/sdcard1/
http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/tutorial-rooting-android-installing-xposed-and-more/
You should use exFAT instead of NTFS as it’s better optimized for SD cards.
I believe you’ll need to use CWM via IntelAndroid-FBRL to install the mod.

Thanks for trying to give the Hi8 a solution for being able to mount exFAT and NTFS.
But sadly your soultion won’t work. When trying to flash the zip there is a “! Error: unzip failed” with a “Status 3”.
Perhaps you could point the error out?Kind regards
