Searching for a docking station in google, to these forums, then this.
http://www.banggood.com/4-Port-Micro-USB-OTG-Charger-HUB-Cable-For-Tablet-Phone-p-975460.html
So maybe I found a way to search lol.
December 6, 2015 at 11:48 pm #17796I have one like in your link and another that looks like the one Chris (I think) recommended.
The first one has some kind of mechanical relay inside which seems wierd.
The latter is better in terms of simultaneous charging and hub but neither allow full charge speed which means the tablet can’t charge fast enough when the screen is on. So eventually the battery discharges. Both also have issues
I can only charge at about 0.5A whereas with a straight cable I get about 1.1-1.2A. The first one I bought claims high charge rates and lower gauge cables, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. The other larger problem for me is that if unplugged (or power is removed from the hub in charging + hub mode), the tablet often needs to be rebooted. Also if power is removed, the whole hub unplugs so devices plugged into the hub now longer work. I want to leave the hub plugged in and turn power on and off externally.
December 7, 2015 at 7:19 pm #17866Thanks for the info. I should be getting mine this week so I’ll give it a shot. I don’t think I’ll use the hub without the power connected. I really want it for when I have this on a stand with everything connected. I have a CableMatters 1Gbs NIC + USB 3 hub connected that works really well. I know I’m not getting a full 1Gbs or USB3, but at least it functions well. Battery doesn’t seem to drain either and I can connected the keyboard and mouse wireless receiver + a USB drive with the NIC connected and everything works.
December 11, 2015 at 11:11 pm #18242I’m using the one from banggood and it’s working great. I have keyboard and mouse receiver connected and my USB NIC and it’s still charging @ 100% screen brightness. I’ve got it set to 2.
