You can fix bad wifi signal by yourself. Open the tablet and look far antenna cable, it is not soldered to connector at all, just re-solder it and signal would be ok
August 12, 2016 at 4:29 pm #46544Yo Nikita, i basically solved the WiFi issue by opening the tablet and put the antena on the outside of the tablet (i put the adhesive part on the outside of the tab and I put the the plastic flip cover on it. The antenna didn’t needed to be soldered since it was a little connector like for laptop wifi cards. The problem was the alloy shell that was blocking the signal (plus my house have thick walls in top of that)
In the process i fucked up the power and volume rocker (when removing the adhesive on it it simply teared the very flimsy connector) so i soldered a DIY power button that i put as well on the outside of the tab. WiFi signal is now outstanding, the look is completely homemade, now the little issue is the speakers but you basically use your tab with headphones anyway.
Overall great tablets, great LCD, good touchscreen, great performance and all connectors work great. I bought it 120 euros on gearbest and even with the DIY stuff it worth the deal
August 12, 2016 at 4:38 pm #46547I am talking about that connector – antenna cable was not connected to connector, thus very poor wifi signal. Slightly moving the cable helps for some time, but real solution is just to re-solder it to connector
August 12, 2016 at 4:52 pm #46550Well i don’t think that soldering it is the best way i you want to remove it with something more efficient, since it is a generic standard type of connection. Plus, with the adhesive tape they put on it, it holds well anyway. The problem here is the metal shell; i mean a bit of plastic would not have hurt no one.
As on my pictures, what only made a difference with me was to put the antenna on the outside. Now, quality signal is equal to my desktop PC (ok, not quite as good looking as if it was inside the tab LOL) but efficient.
